Jostein Gaarder (natural August 8, 1952) is a Norwegian author of novels, short stories, and children's books.

Gaarder was natural inside Oslo, Norway, into a pedagogic personal. He exposed Scandinavian languages and theology at the University of Oslo. Awhile, prior to launching his writing career, he taught philosophy.
